dream [2]
last night i had a dream that jose, katy, and i were traveling somewhere and on the way we came across a small house. for some reason i knew all about the house and who lived there and we decided to break in and rob them. we went in and started to quietly rummage through things and after not finding anything, i told katy and jose we should leave, but they insisted on staying to look. i reminded...

nothing is anything in itself
i’ve cycled back to sleeping during the day, which is neither a good nor bad choice, i think. i’m not really hindered by it, but it’s not really helping me. i drink 2.2 liters of water per day — every day — on a continual loop and i don’t feel any healthier than i did when i drank when thirsty. i had peanut butter and banana sandwich today. it was insanely...

shot this morning at dawn. it was super foggy so i decided to take a walk and shoot some stuff. lots of camera shake due to it being cold and muggy and weird color quality due to me not understanding what vimeo wants from me. thanks to jamie for the song.

zero theorem [post one]
i imagine this will be my first post of many regarding this movie, because with the little i’ve gathered from initial reports and this gushing script review, my fanboy juices are flowing. not only is parnassus coming out this year, there are confirmed reports of gilliam starting to work on the don quixote script again…and now he’s shooting a film in may that, as the review...

php woes
i want to throw something out a window. i am not cut out to code php. writing data from an input form into another page should be easy, but apparently i’m either too lazy to do more extensive (read: more than three hours of) searches for the right way to code it, or it’s harder than i imagine it to be. now for phase two: bug someone for help.

curious caloric content
so, i just made some popcorn and, while idly reading the box, noticed that a popped serving has 35 calories, while an unpopped serving has 130. two things: one, really? because that’s awesome and i don’t know how that’d work. two, who eats unpopped popcorn? song of the day: guided by voices - the goldheart mountaintop queen directory

monomes are super, super cool. i would play on this thing for hours. also, last night, i got an iphone app called synthPond that i’ve been having a great time playing with (it’s therapeutic and fun).

a political post
yesterday, obama opened up the government and today, issued a directive to close down guantánamo and any other secret prisons the us had set up worldwide to hold and interrogate prisoners. this is amazing. i don’t post about politics much, but i’m really glad that obama is president now. i won’t go on a rant about the bush administration’s fuck-ups, but i will say that i...

finally
after toiling over a new design all day, i finally have a new tumblr layout that i made from scratch. unfortunately, there’re still a lot of bugs to work out, so i am going back to work now.

just think
when you grow up you could be president, or play cello at the inauguration, or read a shitty poem to a live 1.4 million strong audience, or anything you want really; just do something.

finally i got vimeo to work. i spent way too long on uploading this video considering it’s barely a minute long and only five shots. i’m unsatistfied with the quality, though, which is due to the weird way i had to compress it to get vimeo to accept it. it looks fine when it’s in the smaller players, but shown full size is a bit too pixelly for my taste. i don’t know....

i give up
after trying to figure out why vimeo will not recieve a video i’m uploading to it, i give up. i’ll try again tomorrow.

little bit of this and that
so i got my camera in today. it’s a bittersweet thing to have it to play with, i suppose. on one hand, i feel guilty for spending all the money on it (barring eventual payoff); but on the other hand, it’s real pretty and fun. i got clued into a job opening today, which, if it pans out, will be good. it kind of puts a time press on other things coming up, though, which brings back...

dream
last night i had a dream that i was walking in this dark wooded area. after a while, the trees were starting to thin out a bit and the ground was starting to get dark and inky. i came to the edge of a lake where it looked like the stars were really clearly reflected in the water, but i realized that the shore was actually the fragmented edge of the land i was walking on and i was on the edge of an...

my chest hurts
i have what can best be described as a tight catch in my sternum which causes a dull pain that is remedied by pulling back my shoulders (resulting in an audible “pop”). i imagine it’s because i have a horrible slouch. as best as i can pull together from google searches, there’s really no reason to worry, i just need to stand up straighter. the end. song of the day: why? -...

confusion/satisfaction
i can’t for the life of me figure out why i can’t stay on a normal sleep schedule. i even am fairly active during the day, which should put me out like a light when nightfall hits, but no dice. i guess i’ll just keep moving and sleeping whenever i get tired. oh man, i had a baked potato today. my hunger peaked and was quelled all in one swift blow. i finally bought my camera...

two reviews
the curious case of benjamin button: overall a very good movie, although the third act really drags. i kind of found myself losing interest in anything benjamin button once he became brad pitt. the first two acts were really engaging and nice, and i kind of wish it had expanded itself a bit more, rather than petering out. forgetting that eric roth wrote the script, i felt that the story was very...

and now
it’s a new year with new things. new clouds. new grass. same water, though. my room didn’t change and neither did i. the weather is only slightly more noticeably cold. i don’t know much i didn’t know a week ago and i own the same amount of things. i’ve eaten some healthy things but more unhealthy things. i’ve taken showers and brushed teeth. nothing is...
